Morphema Bookmarks Privacy Policy

Overview

Morphema Bookmarks is a browser extension for organizing bookmarks into boards and sections, keeping an offline copy in the browser, and syncing bookmark data with the user's account when connectivity is available.

Data We Collect

To provide the extension's bookmark sync service, we collect and process:

• Email address used for account registration, login, and password reset.
• Password credentials during authentication. Passwords are stored only as hashes.
• Bookmark data saved by the user, including board names, section names, bookmark titles, and bookmark URLs.
• Account status, including whether the account has paid access.
• Stripe payment metadata such as customer id, checkout session id, payment status, amount, and currency.
• Local extension data such as cached bookmarks, sync state, selected board, and small UI preferences.

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect browsing history.
• We do not inspect the contents of open tabs.
• We do not collect health, location, or personal communication data.
• We do not collect or store payment card numbers. Card details are handled by Stripe.
• We do not use advertising trackers.

How We Use Data

We use collected data only to provide and maintain the extension's features:

• Authenticate users and maintain signed-in sessions.
• Store, display, and sync bookmark data across devices.
• Support offline bookmark access and later synchronization.
• Send password reset emails when requested.
• Activate paid access after successful Stripe Checkout payment.
• Provide support, troubleshooting, and security for the service.

Data Sharing

We do not sell user data. We do not transfer user data for unrelated purposes, advertising, creditworthiness, or lending. We use service providers only where needed to operate the extension, including hosting, email delivery, and Stripe payment processing.

Local Storage

The extension stores a local copy of bookmark data and sync metadata in Chrome local extension storage. This enables offline access and allows changes to sync when the browser reconnects to the internet.

Remote Code

The extension does not execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly. Extension code is packaged with the extension. The extension communicates with the Morphema Bookmarks API and opens Stripe Checkout in a browser tab for payment.

Data Retention and Deletion

Account and bookmark data are retained while the user account remains active. Users may request account or data deletion by contacting support.
